Prof. Gunja Baranwal holds a first class Master’s Degree in Economics from the Banaras Hindu University. Her research work focuses on ‘FDI and Human Capital Formation in India’and she has submitted her Ph.D. thesis at the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta, an ICSSR Institute affiliated to Jadavpur University. She has investigated the human capital formation effects of FDI, specifically for the manufacturing sector in India.
She has served as Senior Research fellow (UGC-SRF) in the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta for five years. She has also completed a Ph.D. internship from United Nations University-World Institute for Development Economics Research, Helsinki (UNU-WIDER). Her research interests include International Economics, Labor Economics and Development Economics. Currently she is teaching Macro Economics and Public Finance courses.
