Alliance University - Institution Innovation Council (AU IIC)

The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) at Alliance University has been established as part of the initiative by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education institutions. The IIC at Alliance University aims to create an ecosystem that nurtures innovation, promotes entrepreneurship, and supports the development of innovative ideas and solutions.

Vision:

To develop an innovative education system and provide opportunities for students to participate in IIC activities, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship.

Mission:

  • To provide awareness workshops focusing on entrepreneurship and innovation for addressing societal issues
  • To encourage students and researchers to participate in national/international level ideathons, hackathons, and makeathons
  • To establish a methodology for protecting intellectual properties and create a support system for nurturing innovative ideas

Focus Areas:

  • Creating a vibrant local innovation ecosystem
  • Establishing a startup/entrepreneurship support mechanism within the university
  • Developing an ecosystem for scouting ideas and pre-incubation of ideas
  • Enhancing cognitive abilities and promoting design thinking among students

Functions of IIC

  • Promoting innovation in the university through various modes, leading to an innovation promotion ecosystem on campus
  • Conducting innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by the MoE's Innovation Cell in a time-bound manner
  • Identifying and rewarding innovations, and sharing success stories
  • Organizing workshops, seminars, and interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals, and creating a mentor pool for student innovators
  • Networking with peer institutions and national entrepreneurship development organizations
  • Creating an innovation portal to highlight innovative projects by faculty and students
  • Organizing hackathons, idea competitions, mini-challenges with industry involvement
