B. Tech. in Information Technology – Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (AR / VR) with (UNITY)

Overview

Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality are transforming businesses around the world. B. Tech Computer Science and Engineering with specialization in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality is designed to create a promising talent pool of AR and VR professional and Gaming developers. This course offers a perfect combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience to meet the growing demand in industry. The syllabus is intended to equip students with a solid foundation in inculcating knowledge of algorithms, frameworks, and incorporation of acquired data in developing systems using Augmented and Virtual Reality. Equipped with the best infrastructure including advanced research labs, B Tech in AR and VR aspirants can experience a global learning standard.

Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) seamlessly integrate the digital world with the real world. This course provides students with an in-depth understanding of technologies such as Computer Graphics, 3D modelling, UX/UI design and Computer Vision. This course is designed to give historical and modern overviews and perspectives on virtual reality. It describes the fundamentals of sensation, perception, technical and engineering aspects of virtual reality systems. Course emphasis on working of VR systems and list the applications of VR in marketing, art & education, healthcare, tourism, gaming etc. It also focusses in understanding systems of human vision and its implication on perception, motion and tracking in VR systems.

Eligibility


For Regular

10+2 from recognized Board / Council with Minimum 50% marks in Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational Subject.

Score in JEE (Main); JEE (Advanced); Karnataka CET; COMED-K; AUEET (Alliance Undergraduate Engineering Entrance Test); or any other State-Level engineering entrance examination.


For Lateral Entry

Passed Diploma examination with at least 50% marks in relevant branch of Engineering and Technology.

Passed B. Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 50% marks & passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.

A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC / ST.

Focus on creating sophisticated AR algorithms such as Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), Variants of SLAM - dense tracking and mapping (DTAM), parallel tracking and mapping (PTAM) and semi-direct monocular visual odometry (SVO).

Develop applications using AR/VR technology for Medical Training, Interior Design Modelling, Classroom for Education, Entertainment and Military Intelligence.
