In observance of World Heart Day, acknowledged by the World Heart Federation (WHF) and World Health Organisation (WHO), the Department of Student Support Services organised a physical health check-up camp and a health talk in collaboration with Narayana Hospital. This event aimed to promote awareness about heart health among the university community.
Goals of the Initiative
The initiative sought to raise awareness about heart health and encourage preventive measures. It aimed to equip participants with the knowledge necessary to maintain a healthy heart through early detection and lifestyle modifications. The event also aimed to provide information on the importance of heart health in preventing potential risks.
Health Check-Up Camp
The health check-up camp offered a variety of essential health screenings designed to assess participants' cardiovascular and overall health. The services provided included measurements of body mass index (BMI), random blood sugar levels, haemoglobin, bone mineral density, and ECG, which were conducted on the advice of attending doctors. Participants had the opportunity to receive free consultations with medical professionals. These consultations allowed them to discuss their results and explore preventive care strategies. This aspect of the event was particularly beneficial for individuals seeking to understand their health better.
