09 September, 2024
The Department of Student Support Services at Alliance University organized a workshop titled Navigating Transitions: Coping with Homesickness, Peer Pressure, and Bullying. This event was designed to help students, both freshmen and seniors, manage the difficulties they may encounter during their academic journey.
Addressing Common Student Challenges
The workshop focused on key issues faced by students, including homesickness, adapting to new surroundings, handling academic pressure, peer pressure, and dealing with the behavior of fellow students. The goal was to offer practical support and guidance to help students navigate these challenges.
Interactive Activities for Engagement
The session included interactive activities such as role plays and problem-solving games. These activities provided participants with a chance to engage and share their personal experiences. By participating in these exercises, students learned coping strategies for various challenges they face on campus.
Alignment with Sustainable Development Goals
This workshop was also aligned with Alliance University's commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In particular, it supported SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, by promoting mental and emotional health for students as they navigate these critical years.
This initiative highlights the university’s dedication to ensuring students receive the necessary guidance and support to succeed both academically and personally.
