08 March, 2023
Women's Day celebration at Alliance University was a colorful and inspiring affair with a wide range of activities and events aimed at empowering women and promoting gender equality. The celebrations began with an energetic inaugural address by the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Anubha Singh, who set the tone for the event by highlighting the strength, courage, and talent of working women. She urged the audience to embrace these qualities and work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable world.
Later, a panel discussion on "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality" brought together a diverse group of women leaders from various fields, including gynecology, cybersecurity, education, social activism, and modeling. They shared their personal stories of overcoming challenges and breaking barriers to reach their leadership positions and discussed the importance of inclusiveness and supporting and mentoring each other. Parallelly, various clinics were organized in the Activity Centre of the University, that were offering opportunities for attendees to learn new skills and explore their creativity. These included art, counseling, baking, photography, fitness, and Zumba, all led by experts in their respective fields.
Cultural activities brought everyone together for a fun and engaging afternoon of singing, fashion, dance performances, and more. The highlight of the afternoon was a group dance performance by faculty, staff, and housekeeping staff, who came together to showcase their talent and celebrate the spirit of Women's Day. The event also featured sessions on dining etiquettes, gender diversity, and tips on dressing and makeup, all aimed at empowering women with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their personal and professional lives.
Altogether, the Women's Day celebration at Alliance University was a vibrant and inspiring event that brought together women from all walks of life to share their stories, learn new skills, and celebrate their strengths and achievements. It was a reminder that, despite the many challenges that women face, they have the power to overcome them and create a more just and equitable world for all.
