The Karnataka Fund for Improvement of Science & Technology Infrastructure (K-FIST) in Universities and Higher Education—a program of the Vision Group on Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka has recommended research grants for proposals submitted by Alliance University to establish Centers of Excellence in Science, Engineering and Medicine at the Alliance College of Engineering and Design for 2013-14—in the areas of nanotechnology, radiofrequency identification and cloud computing. K-FIST, Government of Karnataka aims to develop and strengthen science and technology infrastructure as well as laboratory facilities in Science departments, colleges or universities by offering grants to institutions of higher education, which are actively engaged in science and engineering research.
