Alliance University, Bengaluru, India in partnership with Kennesaw State University, USA has received the prestigious Model United Nations (MUN) Exchange Grant from the US Government. The award, part of the highly competitive U.S. Embassy Public Affairs section cooperative agreement program, will offer a unique platform to bring together the next generation of leaders from over 50 leading universities across the globe to discuss regional and global issues.
A team of students from Alliance University accompanied by faculty advisors and/or mentors will get an opportunity to participate in MUN programs in USA to share and discuss best practices, and to establish the foundation for future interaction on global issues. The program will provide young leaders with an interactive learning experience and skills development in foreign policy research, negotiating texts, drafting resolutions, public speaking, problem-solving, and debating.
The delegation from India represented by the team from Alliance University would participate in the Southern Regional Model United Nations (SRMUN) Atlanta 2014 on the topic; Revitalizing "An Agenda for Peace": Preventative Diplomacy, Conflict Resolution, and the Making of Peace in Our Time between November 20-22, 2014.
