Sameeksha – 2022, An Inter-University Competition by Alliance University Aimed for Students to Learn & Contribute towards India’s Growth
23 September, 2022
Department of MDP & Corporate Training Program, Alliance University organized "Sameeksha 2022", an inter-university competition. The word “Sameeksha” means “understanding,” while it also means "analysis" in Sanskrit. Both "analysis" and "understanding" are two different sides of the same coin. India currently is one of the world's fastest growing economies, and experts anticipate that this trend will continue even until 2050. According to Economic Times, it will surpass China as the second-largest economy on earth. Although that could be a far-fetched prediction, it is undeniable that India has been on a firm path of steady economic growth. For instance, it is anticipated that India's GDP will reach INR 236.65 trillion (US$ 3.05 trillion) in FY 2022, which will be a record high.
The elements that contributed to this amazing achievement is the growth in the three major sectors of the Indian economy, which are the primary sector, the secondary sector, and the tertiary sector. "Sameeksha", gave an opportunity to students to choose one of the following industries, which fall under these three major sectors, and present a thorough "understanding" and a presentation with a proper "analysis" of how far these industries can lead to India’s growth and how that can be achieved. The industries included were banking, automobile, tourism, energy, power, transportation, telecommunication, education, aviation, information technology, infrastructure, retail, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and agriculture.
The modus operandi for a successful industry analysis is "Analyze, Associate, Assimilate". Students who could capitalize on these core aspects are the ones who emerged as the best and took home the spoils of victory. The National Education Policy of India focuses on learner-centric education with an emphasis on skill-based learning. Alliance’s heartfelt aim is to help students have a bright future with not just extensive knowledge but also skills to help make the best use of that knowledge. Sameeksha precisely facilitated the same.
Along with Alliance University, six other institutions took part in the competition, which were- HAL Management Academy, Ramaiah Institute of Management, ISBR Business School, National School of Business Academy, Dayanand Sagar Academy of Technology and Management, and Jain University-CMS Business School. Prof. Manab Bose, adjunct professor and strategic consultant at IIM Udaipur, and Dr. Uma Sreedhar, head of MDP & CTP at Alliance University, judged the competition. The two amazing judges took out their time to judge the competition. They helped students significantly in understanding their deficiencies and enhancing their strengths.
The competition witnessed Jain University-CMS Business School as the winners and second place was taken by HAL Management Academy and followed by Alliance University in the third place. The Best Speaker award was given to Atul Bharadwaj of HAL Management Academy. Alliance University thanks all the students for their enthusiastic participation.
