Alliance School of Business Hosts an Expert Panel on Post Budget Analysis & Discussion

The area of Finance & Accounting of the School of Business of Alliance University hosted an expert panel on ‘Post Budget Analysis & Discussion’ in a hybrid mode. The program was hosted by Dr. Astha Badjatia, Assistant Professor, Alliance School of Business. Dr. Abdul Hameed, Associate Professor and Area Chair, Finance acted as the moderator of the discussion. CA K. Raghu, Former President, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI); CA Shravan Guduthur, Former Chairman of ICAI Bangalore Branch; CA Rony Anthony, Partner, BDO in India and CA Vishal Lodha, Managing Director, EFD Induction Group were invited as the Session Speakers for the discussion. The gathering was welcomed by Dr. Ajay Kumar Yadav, Interim Dean, Alliance School of Business.
CA K. Raghu spoke on the implications of budget on Indian economy. He highlighted the transforming capacity of Indian economy in the eye of ‘SAPTHARISHI’ program announced in the Union Budget 2023. The priority areas under the said scheme were elaborated by the speaker as, inclusive development, last mile coverage, infrastructure and investment, unleashing potential, green growth, youth power and financial sector respectively.
CA Shravan Guduthur spoke about the revised new personal income tax regime introduced in Union Budget 2023. The speaker elaborated about the applicability and suitability of old and new tax regime. In addition, special mention was made on processing time of income tax return filing and its significance in current digital era. The speaker also elaborated the rationale behind the new tax regime.
CA Rony Anthony and CA Vishal Lodha highlighted the impact of Union Budget on Indian corporate sector. The speaker’s emphasised on areas such as capital expenditure, consumption habit, prospect to the achievement of USD 5 trillion economy, ease of doing business, green economy, MSME revamping, promotion of startups and related matters.
Dr. Abdul Hameed, Moderator of the event initiated the discussion on the Union Budget with the speakers and later the forum was opened for questions and discussion from the audience part. The entire session was an interactive session and the speakers answered many queries raised by the participants. Many students along with the faculty members of Alliance University attended the event. The session was very knowledgeable and fruitful for the audience as it went into details and made it very easy and comprehensive to the listeners through excellent deliberations as well as active participation.
