Mr. Pankaj Saxena, Vice President of Nielsen, addressed the advantages and disadvantages of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He shared an example of biased outcomes from Amazon’s AI hiring process, clarifying the distinction between AI and machine learning (ML). Mr. Saxena emphasized the importance of job stability, tailoring one’s CV, and acquiring market-driven skills. He also discussed the pros and cons of cybersecurity in today’s technological landscape.
Personal Growth and Education
The Interim Dean of the Alliance School of Engineering and Design, Dr. Reeba Korah, highlighted the broader goals of education at Alliance University. She noted that education goes beyond acquiring knowledge; it involves personal growth and societal contribution. Dr. Korah emphasized that students will combine undergraduate learning with personal experiences, focusing on exploration and research during their academic journey.

The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Priestly Shan, emphasized the need for "empowering educators for a sustainable future" and urged students to focus on disciplined learning and managing failure. He encouraged participation in initiatives like the Smart India Hackathon to apply their skills in real-world situations. Dr. Boaz highlighted that research publications and active involvement in such initiatives are crucial for the practical application of learned skills.

The Dean of Academic Affairs and Interim Dean of the Alliance School of Liberal Arts, Dr. V.J. Byra Reddy, outlined essential skills for future success as identified by the Global Skills Taxonomy. These skills include cognitive abilities, self-efficacy, management, and attitude, all of which are crucial for preparing for tomorrow’s workforce. Dr. Reddy emphasized that these competencies will help students adapt to the evolving demands of the job market.
