Alliance University, in collaboration with the Women’s Empowerment Cell, CSR Department, and NSS Cell, inaugurated Mahila Sabalikaran, an initiative designed to empower women and girl children through education and skill development. The programme is launched in observance of International Women’s Day and aims to support 50 participants from nearby villages.

Skill Development and Training The 30-session programme includes training in handicrafts, English, yoga, financial literacy, computer skills, and personality development. The objective is to guide participants towards self-reliance and employment opportunities. Upon completion, participants will receive certificates from Alliance University, recognising their efforts and achievements.

Participation and Response The programme received numerous applications, and 50 deserving participants were selected. The cohort includes young girls aged 8-10 years to women up to 35 years, reflecting the commitment to inclusivity and empowerment across different age groups.

Event Highlights The inauguration was attended by Ms Surekha Shetty, Registrar General of Alliance University, who welcomed the gathering and emphasised the university’s role in women’s empowerment. Chief Guest Dr Pramod GK, Bengaluru Nagar Zilla Panchayat Assistant Planning Officer, addressed the participants and shared insights on the significance of women’s empowerment and cybersecurity in the digital era. Dr Ratnakar Achari, Secretary of the NSS Cell, provided an overview of the programme and expressed gratitude to Mr Lokesh, a senior member of Janata Colony, for his support towards the initiative.

Impact and Future Vision Mahila Sabalikaran aims not only to develop skills but also to foster confidence, independence, and leadership within the community. Through structured training and mentorship, the programme seeks to create long-term social impact, ensuring that participants are equipped for future opportunities.
