Alliance Ascent College of Alliance University hosted a sports event ‘Khel Utsav 2022’, which was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Ramanna Shetty, Director of Alliance Ascent College, Dr. Preethi Gupta, Deputy Director of Alliance Ascent College, and Dr. Varendar Singh Patial, Director of Physical Education & Sports, with great enthusiasm.

The competitions were held from October 12th to October 18th, 2022. Students at Ascent College competed in a variety of sports during the Khel Utsav, which included both indoor and outdoor competitions. Volleyball, Gully Cricket, and Throwball were some of the sports that were played in the outdoor category. Badminton, table tennis, carrom, and chess were among the sports that were played in the indoor category. Student coordinators Sri Manjunath S, Naveen Kumar R, and Nishad Mandot, along with faculty sports coordinator for the Ascent College, Dr. Varadaraj, Professor at Alliance Ascent College, together coordinated the event. Other faculty members from Alliance Ascent College including Prof. Dr. Radha Krishna, Assistant Professor, and Prof. Dr. Akanksha, Assistant Professor highly motivated student teams to display great sportsmanship.

The main aim of sports is to prepare individuals for a high performance. Sports plays a major role in the improvement of physical fitness, in the acquisition of motor skills, in the improvement of tactical efficiency and in the education and improvement of mental capabilities.

Khel Utsav gave all student participants a great time to bond and battle with fellow mates for the sports competitions. The event came to a splendid end with Aditya Jaiswal (Table Tennis), Rahul Kumar (Chess), Siddharth Kumar Sandil & Sanskar Singh (Badminton Boys), Karishma Kishore K & Prathyusha S (Badminton Girls), Naveen Kumar R & Team (Gully Cricket), Thilak Kumar H K & Team (Volleyball), Vishal Sanjay Shivam & P Sai Pooja (Carroms) and Moanisha & Team (Throwball) as winners.
