Alliance University and Sparsh Hospital along with the Department of Health and Family Welfare organized a community event marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking at Town Hall in Bengaluru on July 3, 2023. The event was attended by students from various colleges who were passionate about addressing the challenges of drug abuse and illicit trafficking in society. The gathering provided an opportunity for students to come together and learn about the consequences of drug abuse on individuals and communities.
Distinguished guests, Sri. Dinesh Gundu Rao, Hon'ble Minister of the Department of Health and Family Welfare and Sri. R. Srinivas Gowda, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru City participated in the event strongly supporting the student community in efforts against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. They shared insights on the health effects, social impact, and economic consequences of drug abuse. Students also had the chance to express their thoughts on the subject.
To conclude the event, the guests, faculty members, and students took a pledge to combat drug abuse. The pledge included promises to cooperate in stopping drug abuse, refrain from consuming harmful or illegal drugs, raise awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse, and lead a healthy and drug-free life.
