Alliance University and Seed VC Host the ‘International Congress on Metaverse and its Applications’

Alliance University in collaboration with Seed VC Innovation Limited, UAE is hosted a two-day virtual ‘International Congress on Metaverse and its Applications’. The goal of the congress was to bring together technologists, researchers, industry experts, academicians, startupreneurs, and investors to outline the path in creating the infrastructure and applications in Metaverse with emphasis on manufacturing and healthcare.
It is intentional that the event is named as a ‘congress’ to imply that the goal is to bring together various stakeholders to define this technology. This International Congress on Metaverse and its Applications was an excellent venue for participants to project their ideas and vision to shape the future of this technology and for potential investors to participate in giving their views about the acceptance of these solutions by the market.
The theme of the event was “Metaverse Applications in Industry and Opportunities for Pioneers” that brought together Metaverse experts from across the globe to discuss ways to enable companies to develop Metaverse products/solutions. The session started with the keynote by Mr. Sandeep Alur, Director, Microsoft Technology Center, India who spoke about ‘The Possibilities of Metaverse and Future of Internet’ where he mentioned about some of the B2B user scenarios which Microsoft is engaged in, primarily for healthcare and people interaction. He also spoke about the upcoming product 'Microsoft Mesh' that will be used to create Metaverse spaces including the visuals.
Later a panel discussion took place on the topic, ‘Envisioning Future of Internet and Global Impact’ with Mr. Nitin Kumar, CEO, zBlocks & Investor; Mr. Ramesh Y – Vice President, First Source; Mr. Sidarttha Bezbora, CEO, VOAX Sports; Mr. Shivaram KR, Hue Tech as panellists and Dr. Ray Titus, Professor, Alliance School of Business as the moderator. The panel discussion was followed by another plenary session on ‘Enabling the Industrial Metaverse’ by Mr. David Reinhart, Executive Vice President, Visionaize Inc. and Mr. Ramesh Kumar, Chief Strategy Officer, Visionaize Inc. followed by the demo of 3D Digital Twins from Visionaize Inc.
The first day of the event ended with a virtual Start-up Expo where early-stage companies presented their products and connected with investors. This was a forum for early-stage companies to showcase their ideas and seek funds from participating investors.
The second day of the event began with a session on ‘Healthcare Metaverse’ by Mr. Nitin Bagrecha, Image Management Specialist at Siemens AG Medical Solutions, Erlangen, Germany who spoke about various medical metaverse scenarios and research activities across the world. He also captured case studies and examples of how metaverse will expedite drug testing and release. This was followed by a session on ‘Funding in Metaverse’ by Mr. Gaurav Aggarwal, Managing Partner, SeedVC who brought up the aspects of the funding cycle and opportunities in the area of metaverse.
The second day concluded with Dr. Lokesh Bore Gowda, Director, Samsung R&D Institute, India speaking on ‘Metaverse Technology Roadmap and Progression’ about the likely Metaverse evolution cycle. He expressed that the user scenarios will gradually evolve over a period as technology matures.
The two-day event witnessed massive participation from technologists, researchers, industry experts, academicians, startupreneurs, and investors who benefitted from the sessions by industry veterans in the revolutionary space of Metaverse.
