Department of Science, Alliance University hosts Faculty Development Program on Recent Advancements in Science and Technology

The Faculty Development Program on Recent Advancements in Science and Technology organized by the Department of Science at Alliance University was a resounding success, with over 500 participants from all over India registering for the program. The program was aimed at enhancing the knowledge and expertise of faculties, research scholars, and postgraduate students in various fields related to science and technology. The program was enriched by the presence of eminent speakers from various reputed institutions such as IITs, NITs, ISRO, IISc, IISER, the University of Oxford, who shared their valuable insights around latest research and development in these areas.
The program covered various fields, including Chemistry in water, Quantum Computing, Solvent-free, Base-free, Parts-per-million level catalysis, Late Transition Metal N-heterocyclic Carbene Complexes in Single to Multi-Cycle Catalyses, and New Perspectives and Challenges for Designing Coordination Chemistry-Inspired Therapeutic Conjugates for Cancer Treatments. The participants were provided with a unique opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in these fields, which could help them in their future research and teaching endeavors.
One of the major highlights of the program was the focus on environmental sustainability, with discussions on the patent landscaping of wastewater treatment technologies and air quality management for a clean air action plan. The participants were also introduced to Laser-assisted photonic structure fabrication, Fluorescent small molecules for sub-cellular imaging, and Pyrochlore oxide, a radiation-resistant oxide material for the nuclear industry, which highlighted the potential of these technologies in various fields.

The program was conducted over five days and consisted of informative and insightful sessions. The speakers shared their experiences and knowledge, which helped the participants understand the latest scientific and technological developments. The participants were also provided with ample opportunities to interact with the speakers and ask questions, which made the program even more engaging and informative.
