Students from the Marketing and International Business specialisations at Alliance University visited the Atal Incubation Centre, Coffee Board of India, in Bengaluru. The visit was part of an experiential learning initiative aimed at providing practical exposure to the coffee industry in India.
Learning Session on the Coffee Business
The Coffee Board team, under the guidance of Mr Praveen H. J., CEO of the Atal Incubation Centre, Coffee Board of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Government of India, conducted a half-day session for the students. The session introduced the students to the coffee business in India and its operations.
Mr Praveen H. J. and his team shared insights on various aspects of the coffee industry. The session covered an introduction to the Atal Incubation Centre, the Central Coffee Research Institute, and the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development. The students gained an understanding of the vision and objectives of the Coffee Board. They also explored the challenges faced in the coffee business and discussed approaches to creating solutions and generating revenue.
Exploring Operations and Opportunities
The visit included a tour of the Incubation Centre, where students observed the transformation of raw coffee beans into the final product. This tour helped students understand the operations involved in coffee production. They also learned about entrepreneurial opportunities in the coffee industry in India and globally.
The session highlighted how the Atal Incubation Centre and the Coffee Research Institute support entrepreneurs through training, funding, and business plan implementation.
