Debate Competition Highlights: Role of Technology and Ethics in Combating Corruption

In alignment with the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines for observing "Vigilance Awareness Week 2024," the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Alliance School of Advanced Computing, Alliance University, hosted a debate competition—the event aimed to engage students in discussions on addressing corruption through technology and ethical practices.
Debate on Technology and Corruption
The debate centred on "Can Technology Alone Eliminate Corruption?" Participants examined the potential of technological advancements, such as blockchain and digital monitoring systems, in addressing corruption. The discussion included perspectives on the need for ethical practices alongside technological tools to ensure transparency and accountability.
The event emphasised the role of youth in tackling corruption and fostering transparency in society. Participants explored how young leaders can contribute to reducing corruption by integrating technology and ethical values into their efforts.
Recognition of Participants
The competition, coordinated by Dr V. Keerthika and Dr Reena Thingom, Associate Professor at the Alliance College of Engineering and Design, concluded with the recognition of student participants. Pavani G, Kamal Kumar Machireddy, and Sinchana Suresh Ganiga were awarded medals of appreciation for their contributions to the discussion.

The debate highlighted the importance of combining technological advancements with ethical practices to address corruption effectively. The event aimed to raise students' awareness about the significance of ethics and values in building a transparent and accountable society.
