Unveiling the Essence: Promoting Menstrual Hygiene Awareness:
In a proactive effort to educate and uplift young women, the Alliance Centre for Women Empowerment (ACWE) organized an engaging session at Govt. High School, Marasur, Bengaluru on November 4th, 2023. The initiative aimed to foster awareness and understanding of menstrual hygiene practices among adolescent girls, specifically those in 8th to 10th grade, aged 12 to 16.
Empowerment Through Knowledge:
During the engaging session, Dr. Nivedita Mishra, the esteemed Chairperson of ACWE, shed light on the diverse academic programs available at Alliance University. Dr. Mishra underscored the pivotal role of the Alliance Centre for Women Empowerment in advocating for the holistic well-being of young women, emphasizing the crucial aspect of menstrual hygiene management in their lives.
Cultural Sensitivity and Effective Communication: Local Language Instruction:
Delivering a meaningful message in a language that resonates, Dr. Mamatha Ravi, the Secretary of ACWE, eloquently conveyed the significance of maintaining proper menstrual hygiene in Kannada. Dr. Ravi sensitized the students to the potential health consequences associated with neglecting essential hygiene practices during menstruation, ensuring that the message reached the hearts and minds of the young participants.
Collaboration and Appreciation:
The success of the program was a testament to the meticulous coordination led by Dr. Anupama Tiwari, with invaluable support from Mr. Ryan of the B & C Department, and the dedicated assistance of student volunteers Ms. Sakshi Rawal and Ms. Ayushi Singh. Their unwavering commitment and involvement played a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness and impact of the awareness campaign.
