The first lecture was conducted by Roopa Pai where she discussed her journey as an author of children’s literature, education as well as non-fiction works. Among many of her celebrated works, she spoke about her recent book titled, "Cubbon Park: The Green Heart of Bengaluru", which offers a hyper-local perspective on the glorious history of Cubbon Park, a landmark dear to the Bangaloreans since 1870. As for her works on biographies, she discussed her stint as a co-author of "Made in India", a memoir of Milind Soman, a model, reality TV personality and a fitness athlete. Her lecture was truly inspiring for the budding writers in the audience who were rewarded with her words of wisdom on reading different genres of literature and indulging into creative writing. The lecture also included her research on the centuries-old history of Bengaluru and Karnataka.
