Cloud computing has become an essential part of modern technology, providing scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions for businesses and organisations. To equip students with industry-relevant cloud computing skills, the AWS Bootcamp was organised for students of the Alliance College of Engineering and Design at Alliance University. The programme provided a hands-on learning experience, allowing participants to develop a practical understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its applications.
Practical Learning and Cloud Technologies
The boot camp covered fundamental cloud computing concepts, key AWS services, and industry best practices. Students engaged in structured sessions that introduced them to the core principles of cloud infrastructure, focusing on real-world applications. Through guided exercises, participants gained hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2 for virtual computing, S3 for scalable storage, RDS for database management, Lambda for serverless computing, and IAM for security and access control. The interactive approach enabled students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, strengthening their understanding of cloud-based solutions.
Industry Expertise and Faculty Support
The boot camp was led by AWS Certified Solution Architect Rachana, who provided insights into AWS architecture and cloud deployment strategies. The sessions were supported by faculty coordinators Prof. Radha R, Dr Senbagavalli M, and Dr Saswati Debnath, who guided students through technical challenges and ensured a structured learning process. The programme allowed students to explore industry applications of cloud computing and understand the role of AWS in optimising business operations.
Building Industry-Ready Skills
By participating in hands-on exercises and real-time problem-solving activities, students developed industry-relevant expertise in cloud computing. The boot camp aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional skill requirements, preparing students for careers in cloud technology. The training helped students gain practical knowledge, making AWS and cloud computing more accessible and applicable to various domains.
