An IEEE international conference on Artificial intelligence and its applications was organized at Alliance University between April 21 and 22, 2023. The conference was inaugurated by Alliance University Pro-Chancellor, Mr. Abhay G. Chebbi in the presence of Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Anubha Singh, Interim Dean of Alliance College of Engineering and Design, Dr. Reeba Korah with Padmashri Dr. Prahlada Ramarao, Former Chief Controller - DRDO and Director - DRDL as the Chief Guest.

Dr. Prahlada Ramarao highlighted the importance of AI in today's rapidly changing landscape. He discussed to develop the solution of the real-world challenges with the help of AI and appealed to the youth to use AI for nation building. On this occasion, the conference proceedings were unveiled by the dignitaries on the dais.

The conference received the attention of fellow researchers worldwide. It received 302 research articles from institutions of repute from eight different countries such as USA, UAE, Algeria, Mexico, and Japan to name a few. Out of these 302 papers, 84 were selected after rigorous peer review process and 82 were finally presented during the 2-days of the conference.

The conference featured sessions where attendees could delve deeper into specific topics and learn about vogue technologies that are changing the industry. These sessions provided attendees with thought provoking ideas, they could apply to their work. The conference also provided ample opportunities for networking, with attendees able to connect with peers from around the globe. This led to many productive conversations and collaborations, as attendees shared ideas and worked together to find new solutions to common challenges.

For the valedictory ceremony, the Guest of Honour Dr. Kavi Mahesh, Director, IIIT Dharwad enlightened the young minds about the challenges and opportunities of AI. Overall, the conference was a great success, providing attendees with valuable insights, practical knowledge, and new connections that will help them to continue to innovate and drive the research forward. Faculty members of Alliance College of Engineering and Design and many students participated in the conference.

The conference was organized by Dr. Gaurav Kumar, Associate Professor, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Dr. Sandeep Dhariwal, Associate Professor, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering and was first in the Alliance Technology Conference (ATCON) series with technical sponsorship of world-renowned scientific body “Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). This technical sponsorship has been forged with the IEEE headquarters USA through IEEE Bangalore section. This association with IEEE enhanced the visibility of conference and Alliance University at large.

Thomas, Professor, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering; Dr. Abraham George, Professor & Head, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering; Dr. Sridhar T, Professor, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering; Dr. Sheila Mahapatra, Professor & Head, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering; and Dr. Chitra Kiran N, Professor, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering, served as various chairs and all faculty members contributed to the conference in various capacities.
