The Impact of Ideas on World Evolution
The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Incubation and Innovation) and Dean of the Alliance School of Business, Dr. Ray Titus, described the importance of ideas that have shaped world history from a teleological perspective and encouraged students to focus on entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurial Ecosystem
The Pro-Chancellor, Mr. Abhay G. Chebbi, discussed the role of management professionals in addressing the challenges of the 21st century. He emphasized the importance of skills, processes, and organizational efficacy in tackling economic issues and inequality. Mr. Chebbi encouraged students to engage with Bengaluru's entrepreneurial ecosystem. He concluded with a quote from George Bernard Shaw: “Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
Importance of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs), Dr. Priestly Shan Boaz, spoke on transdisciplinarity, academic excellence, and networking. He stated the university's ranking in faculty qualification in the NIRF Rankings 2023. Dr. Shan encouraged students to interact with faculty from various disciplines and to utilize academic resources and Ivy League faculties. He stressed the importance of critical thinking, the focus on SDGs by the UNDP, the university's vision of transforming society through education, and the importance of discipline.
Commitment to Women's Empowerment
The Registrar-General, Ms. Surekha Shetty, emphasized the university's commitment to innovative curriculum and teaching methods. She acknowledged the diverse experiences of students and noted the balanced gender ratio and its role in empowering women.
