The Department of Science, Alliance University, organized National Science Day (NSD) that marks the discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C.V. Raman in 1928. The theme of NSD 2023 was “Global Science for Global Well-being”. The day started with an inaugural function where the Vice-Chancellor of Alliance University, Dr. Anubha Singh addressed the gathering, speaking about the importance of awareness of science in the society. Dr. Vipin Prasad, Head of Department of Science, Alliance University welcomed the guests and formally started the day’s events. Over 600 students from seven schools, namely: Vidhatha Global School; Sri Guruji Vidyanikethana; Saraswati Vidya Mandira; Bharatiya Kannada High School; Mathakondapalli Model School; Edify School; and Rishi Public School participated in the event.

Undergraduate students at the host institute demonstrated 35 experiments spanning physics, chemistry, and technology domains that was intended to promote scientific thinking and innovation among school students. The hands-on experience in the experiments / models was also aimed to inspire the young B.Tech. undergraduates to pursue careers in science and technology. Apart from the demonstrations, quizzes were also organized. 12 teams from the 7 schools participated in exciting quiz competitions held in two sessions. The quiz was a great way to enrich students' knowledge and provide them understanding of scientific concepts and principles. The winners of the quiz were awarded cash prizes and books.

Invitees also had the opportunity to visit the university library, where they explored a vast collection of books on science, technology, digital transformation, physics, etc. The library visit was aimed to promote reading habit among students and to interact with the current faculties of the University to guide the curious young minds.

B.Tech. students of Alliance University also mesmerized the school kids with a drone airshow at the University grounds. The drone was assembled in-house by skilled and enthusiastic students who showcased their talent in drone technology.

Overall, the National Science Day celebration at Alliance University was a huge success. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their talents, exchange ideas, and learn from each other. The event was a great way to promote scientific thinking among school students and to showcase to them the exciting campus life at Alliance.
