Alliance University Hosts Workshop on Indo-German Science and Technology Collaboration

On April 8, 2024, Alliance University, in collaboration with the Institution's Innovation Council and the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell, hosted a workshop titled 'Opportunities for Indo-German Science and Technology Collaboration' at our campus. The workshop aimed to explore research prospects for collaborations between India and Germany, emphasizing the promotion of innovation and knowledge exchange between the two nations.

Dr. S. Prakash, Dean of Research at Alliance University, shared his knowledge of various aspects of collaboration during the event. He emphasized the significance of partnerships between institutions and foreign countries, discussed potential benefits and opportunities arising from such collaborations, and highlighted fellowship opportunities available for individuals or teams interested in advancing their research endeavors.

Dr. Priestly Shan Boaz, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs) at Alliance University, stressed the importance of patience, persistence, and a transdisciplinary approach in research. Mr. R. Madhan, Director of the Indo-German Science and Technology Centre (IGSTC), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India (GoI), New Delhi, led the workshop discussions. He focused on collaboration opportunities between India and Germany in science and technology, the importance of networking, and projects for sustainability such as waste management.
Opportunities for Industrial Fellowships
During the workshop, Mr. Madhan also elaborated on opportunities for industrial fellowships with Germany through industry-funded projects. He shed light on programs like the Small Immediate Needs Grants (SING) and discussed how they facilitate collaboration and research initiatives between the two countries.
