Alliance University Hosts One Day Awareness Program on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) under National Intellectual Property Rights Awareness Mission (NIPAM) 2.0, Govt. of India

A one-day Awareness Program on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) under National Intellectual Property Rights Awareness Mission (NIPAM) 2.0, Govt. of India, was conducted at Alliance University by faculty coordinators; Dr. Sasmita Bal, Associate Professor and Dr. Mohit Hemanth Kumar, Assistant Professor, Alliance College of Engineering & Design (ACED). The objectives of the awareness program were to create public awareness about the benefits of intellectual property among all fields of society, understand the different categories of intellectual property rights, and examine how to file an innovative idea in terms of patents and design.
The speaker of this Awareness Program was Ms. Preeti Meena, currently working as the Examiner of Patents & Designs (Group ‘A’ Gazette Officer) in Indian Patent office, Chennai since 2019. She has been a member of the BRICS committee formed to overview patentable subject matter of Artificial Intelligence related applications in the respective countries. She is NIPAM Officer and acted as resource person in several IPR awareness sessions in various universities and colleges in South India. From this Awareness program, faculty, and students understood how to file their innovative ideas in terms of patents, and industrial designs.
