Delegates from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) visited Alliance University to discuss various educational programs and collaborations aligned with global education standards. The visit aimed at enhancing India's education sector and exploring cutting-edge research in robotics, biomedical technology, and environmental sciences.
Discussions on the Global Leaders' Alliance Program
Dr. Liju Jacob Kuriakose, Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean at Alliance School of Liberal Arts, presented the Global Leaders' Alliance Program. He emphasized global perspectives and proposed collaborations in liberal arts, creative writing, data sciences, media studies, TV, animation, and gaming design. Dr. Kuriakose also highlighted Alliance University’s literary festival and the AI & Society Alliance Confest 2024.
QUT's Global Outlook and Research Excellence
Professor Mark Harvey, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at QUT, and Mr. Paul Bolt, Executive Director at Queensland University International, outlined QUT's global outlook, faculty expertise, and research excellence in robotics, biomedical technology, health, and environmental sciences. They also discussed programs for international students.
Proposals for Sector-Wise Partnerships
Professor Harvey proposed sector-wise partnerships, starting with semester exchange programs and dual degree options under the business school. Mr. Bolt and Dr. Srikanth Itapu, Acting Head of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Alliance College of Engineering and Design, explored potential collaborations in applied engineering, computer science, and data science. They agreed to pursue a 1+1 pathway for dual degree programs while ensuring accreditation compliance.
Collaborations in Robotics and Materials Science
Dr. Itapu discussed robotics research and highlighted collaboration opportunities in the Centre for Materials Science at QUT, focusing on semiconductors and batteries.
Campus Tour
The delegates from QUT enjoyed a comprehensive campus tour, exploring the state-of-the-art library, media lab, and other facilities at Alliance University.
