Alliance University Hosts a Successful International Faculty Development Program on Financial Analytics using Python

The Area of Finance & Accounting at Alliance School of Business orchestrated a highly successful International Faculty Development Program (IFDP) on "Financial Analytics using Python" from December 11th to 15th, 2023.
Enhancing Analytical Competencies in Finance
Conducted in a hybrid mode between 10:00 am to 1:30 pm, the IFDP aimed at fortifying participants' knowledge of financial analytics through the application of Python software. The curriculum spanned from foundational to advanced levels, emphasizing hands-on experience with real-time data.
Organizational Prowess and Academic Leadership
The program was organized and coordinated by Dr. Nusrathunnisa, Associate Professor, and Dr. Avijit Bakshi, Professor, both esteemed members of the Area of Finance and Accounting at Alliance School of Business. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Nusrathunnisa, setting the tone for an intellectually enriching experience.
Distinguished speakers, including Dr. Ratnakar Achary, Dr. Chetan J Shelke, Dr. Kulbir Singh, and Dr. Ravindra Babu Satyanarayana, augmented the program with their expertise. Dr. Ray Titus, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Incubation and Innovation) and Dean, of Alliance School of Business; Dr. Byra Reddy, Dean of Academic Affairs, Alliance University; and Dr. K. A. Venkatesh, Registrar, Alliance University, graced the occasion with their insightful addresses.
Comprehensive Curriculum and Expert-Led Sessions
The IFDP spanned five days, each dedicated to specific facets of financial analytics. From fundamental features and data visualization to practical applications in risk analysis, return, and portfolio analysis, the program covered a gamut of topics. Noteworthy sessions included discussions on multivariate regression models, time series data, hypothesis testing, and interpretation.
Participation and Impact
An impressive attendance of 92 active participants, including faculties and scholars from various parts of India, highlighted the program's significance. The IFDP proved particularly beneficial for faculties, Ph.D. students, and prospective research scholars, providing them with valuable insights and practical exposure.
