Alliance University Held a Two-Day International Seminar on the Indian Knowledge System

Alliance University held our recent Executive PGDM Alumni Meet on February 3rd, 2024, at the Builders NGV Club National Games Housing Complex KHB, Kormangala. This meeting was filled with the buzz of laughter, insightful discussions, and cherished memories that held us all close in this rapid era of development.

Alliance University, Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Indian Hindi Professor Council, held a two-day seminar on 'Indian Knowledge, Tradition, and Language Teaching: Challenges and Possibilities', on February 3 and 4, 2024.
Inaugural Session
The session began with an inauguration speech by Prof. V.J. Baira Reddy, Dean of Academic Affairs at Alliance University, who congratulated all the participants and scholars present in this seminar and raised some basic questions related to the topic of the seminar.
Registrar General Smt. Surekha Shetty, Dean of Tripura University Prof. Vinod Mishra, Head of Hindi Department, Central University of Gujarat, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Dubey, and Dr Vinay Kumar Yadav, General Secretary of Karnataka State University College Hindi Professors Association, who were conducting this session, participated.
Dr B. Priestly Shan ji, Pro-Vice Chancellor, emphasized in his inaugural address the need to connect the tradition of Indian knowledge through language. Mrs Surekha Shetty, Registrar General of Alliance University, described and introduced the university's nature and academic structure. Prof. Vinod Mishra ji underlined the need for preservation of various Indian languages and emphasized their translation among themselves.
Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Dubey ji presented the introduction of this entire seminar and the need and justification for the formation of the 'Indian Hindi Professor Council' followed by gratitude session by Dr Indu Sharma, Professor of Marketing at Alliance University.
Day 1
After the inaugural session, two parallel sessions were conducted, and Prof. Mithilesh Kumar Sigh (Hazaribagh, Jharkhand) and Prof. S. R. Jayashree (Kerala, University) chaired these sessions, followed by a second session that was chaired by Naveen Chandra Lohani (Dean, Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut) and Prof. Ajita (HOD, Kochi University, Kerala). In both sessions, pre-determined presenters presented their research papers, prominent among whom were Dr Priyadarshini, Dr Rupa Singh, Dr Krishna Kumar Srivastava, Dr Leena Samuel, Dr Ranjit M, Dr Ranjit Kumar, Dr Kanchan Yadav, Dr Asha Gehlot, Dr Satyaprakash Tiwari, Dr Jotimay Bagh, Dr Shubhra Upadhyaya Dubey, and Dr Anupama Tiwari.
The last session was attended by Mr Abhay Chebbi, Pro-Chancellor Shri, Prof. A. Venkatesh, Registrar and Controller of Examinations, and honorable chief guest Dr Manish Joshi, Secretary, University Grants Commission (UGC). Mr Abhay Chebbi discussed that Indian knowledge tradition is not a new topic and that it is our responsibility to continue our tradition with modern technology. Dr B. Priestly Shan presented the vision and mission of the Indian Knowledge System.
Dr Manish Joshi’s session was hosted by Dr Anupama Tiware, where they discussed and understood the views of all the other professors from various universities who were present in the seminar hall.
Another session was hosted by Dr Priyadarshini, and the chairpersons were Prof. Shraddha Singh (BHU), Dr Rajesh Srivastava (Bhopal), Prof. T.J. Rekha Rani (IFLU, Hyderabad), and Prof. Gurmeet Singh (Punjab University). This was followed by a presentation of research papers.
In the evening, Alliance University students presented cultural programs.
Day 2
The day started with two parallel sessions, chaired by Prof. Amar Jyothi (HoD, Kannur University), Prof. Prabhakar Singh (BHU), and Prof. Satya Updhayaya (Kalyani University, Kolkata). In this session, 8 papers were presented.
After a short break, the valedictory session started, and the chief guest was Prof. Sambhu Nath Tiwari (Aligarh University). Prof. Vandana Jha (JNU, Delhi), Prof. Gajendra P (Central University of Hyderabad), and Prof. Ram Prakash (Venkateshwara University, Tirupati).
Alliance University welcomes discussions on topics like Indian languages and employment mediums, environmental protection, new dimensions of language teaching, and Indian language and folk culture for fostering diversities.
