13 October, 2023
Introduction:
International Business Day 2023 was an engaging and educational event that provided BBA/BCOM 3rd-semester students at Alliance University with a unique opportunity to explore diverse cultures, business practices, and entrepreneurial possibilities across different countries. The event aimed to foster a deeper understanding of the complexities and nuances of international commerce.
Celebrating Diversity and Uniqueness in Business across countries:
The event, themed "Exploring Global Business: Celebrating Diversity and Uniqueness," took place at the Central Campus on October 13, 2023, and brought together enthusiastic participants from BBA/BCOM 3rd-semester students. Each section of students was assigned a specific country using a lottery method, ensuring a wide representation of countries across different continents and economic backgrounds. These assignments led to in-depth research and presentations on various aspects of international business.
Captivating discussion on diverse topics takes center stage as teams battle for the top spot:
Teams of five members each were formed to cover specific topics related to their allocated country, including culture, laws, entry modes, multinational corporations, economy, marketing strategies, performance appraisal, business taxation, sales strategies, food culture, cinema, entrepreneurship, sports management, branding, and advertising. These teams were encouraged to commence their research at least two weeks in advance and to create compelling presentations, charts, models, and cultural representations to enhance the quality and impact of their presentations.
The exhibition proves to be informative and engaging:
The event featured diverse presentation formats, including traditional presentations, interactive workshops, poster presentations, model exhibitions, cultural displays, video presentations, chart and graph showcases, simulation games, live demonstrations, and panel discussions. This variety of presentation methods aimed to make the International Business Day exhibition engaging and informative for both the presenters and the audience.
Three weeks’ worth of performance comes to an end, and winners are announced:
Teams were assessed by the concerned International Business Faculty over a span of 3 weeks, using a structured rubric that considered presentation skills, content quality, use of visual aids, time management, collaboration, and overall performance. The results were as follows:
- Winners: Team Mexico (3C)
- Runners-up: Team UAE (3E)
- Second Runner-Up: Team South Africa (3A)

International Business Day 2023 has successfully achieved its primary objectives by enhancing students' skills across various dimensions, such as cultural appreciation, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, and offering excellent networking opportunities.
