January 10, 2023: As part of the Oracle University Workforce Development Program (WDP) Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed between Oracle India Private Limited and Alliance University, a team comprising of Mr. Bejoy Alex, National Head - WDP Program & Enterprise Business and Mr. Surendra Babu, Principal Solutions Consultant from Oracle India visited the Alliance University campus to sensitize B.Tech. students of Alliance College of Engineering and Design about the Oracle Certifications and SLS (Student Learning Subscription).

The event started with a welcome note by Dr. Abraham George, Head of Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Alliance College of Engineering and Design who insisted that students must skill up their technical knowledge outside the program syllabus. He also spoke about the importance of certification that helps students with more visibility among their peers in interviews during the placement process.

Mr. Gopalakrishnan T. M. from the Office of Career Advancement and Networking (CAN) spoke to the students about the importance of certification in placements. He stated that companies look at the profiles of students who have hands-on experience of specific tools and technologies and that such an experience can achieved by the kind of certification programs as offered by Oracle India.

Mr. Bejoy briefed about the various certification courses offered by Oracle that are extremely beneficial for Alliance University students. This was followed by Mr. Surendra Babu who spoke about technical insights of the various certification courses, the knowledge of using them in solving the computational problems and the placement perspectives to serve global clients that Oracle has all over the world.

About 150 students from both Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (IT) along with the faculty members of the respective departments took part in the seminar. The event ended with a Question-and-Answer session that revolved around the duration of the certification and about the exam pattern etc. Dr. K. Ramalakshmi, Professor at the Alliance College of Engineering and Design delivered the vote of thanks for the event.
