Alliance University hosted A Day at Alliance, welcoming students and faculty from Swastika National Business School, Mangalore, for an academic engagement programme. The event was designed to provide participants with exposure to leadership, strategy, and teamwork through structured discussions, expert sessions, and interactive activities. The sessions encouraged learning, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas, offering students insights into decision-making and professional development.
Welcome Address and Knowledge Exchange
The day commenced with a Welcome Address by Ms Raichel Jobson, setting the stage for the discussions ahead. Dr Raghavendra Holla, Chairperson of Swastika National Business School, Mangalore, shared perspectives on education, leadership, and the evolving business environment. This was followed by a session on the Newsletter Introduction by Ms Preethi Shettigar, which highlighted the role of academic publications in fostering knowledge-sharing and communication. The Newsletter Release further reinforced the importance of staying informed about industry trends and institutional developments. Ms Surekha Shetty, Registrar General at Alliance University, addressed the gathering, sharing insights on leadership, professional growth, and the significance of strategic thinking in academic and corporate settings.
Expert Session on Business Leadership
Dr Ravi Thangjam (RCS), Associate Professor at the Alliance School of Business, conducted a session titled "Decoding Challenges for Business Leaders." The session examined key challenges faced by leaders in the business world and explored strategic decision-making frameworks. Dr Thangjam discussed industry case studies and provided practical insights into problem-solving, leadership, and adapting to a competitive market. Participants engaged in discussions on various leadership approaches, gaining a deeper understanding of the skills required to navigate complex business scenarios.
Campus Exploration and Team Activities
Following the sessions, participants took part in a Campus Tour, experiencing the university’s academic infrastructure, learning facilities, and student-driven initiatives. The tour provided an opportunity to explore the university environment and understand the resources available for academic and professional growth. Additionally, an outdoor team-building activity, organised by the Department of Student Support Services (DoSSS), encouraged problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership through interactive exercises. These activities helped participants develop essential teamwork skills and apply strategic thinking in real-time scenarios.
