Alliance Tech Conclave 2024 | Semiconductor Landscape: Indian Context | Office of CAN | Alliance College of Engineering and Design | Alliance University
Ms. Surekha Shetty, Registrar General gave the welcome address.
Dr. Reeba Korah, Dean of Alliance College of Engineering and Design, gave the introductory note.
Dr. Gaurav Kumar, HOD, ECE at the Alliance College of Engineering and Design, discussed advancements in wireless communication and the importance of aligning the curriculum to meet industrial demands.
Mr. Ruchir Dixit, Vice President & Country Manager delivered the keynote while highlighting the role of semiconductors in the new trade era, the impact of COVID-19 and AI, blockchain technology, data traffic across industries, and the Viksit Bharat 2047 for India to become a global leader in electronics and semiconductors.

"Inventing Our Semiconductor Future Together" | Moderated by Dr. Ramana Murthy G
Panel members—M Praveen Acharya, Arun Shankar, Vinayakam Subramanian, Aleem Rehaman, and Dr. Rakhi Nangia—the discussion centered around:
- Short-term R&D goals, the evolution of design with technology, the manufacturing ecosystem in India, and the importance of industrial collaboration.
- Elaborated on the evolution of EDA (electronic design automation), application engineering, multiphysics alignment, and CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor) skills.
- Key areas for the emerging semiconductor industry, advising engineers to highlight their work on processors, RAM, and related projects on their resumes.
- The global semiconductor manufacturing shortage, predicts 2.6 million jobs by 2026–27, the multidisciplinary skillsets required, and the SEMICON India program for startups.
"Sustainability and ESG in Semiconductor Ecosystems" | Moderated by Dr. Srikanth Itapu
Panel members—Ram Kerur, Taha M S, Dr. Niladri Choudhuri, and Nihar Shetty, deliberated on:
- Logistics and risks in chip manufacture, chemical engineering for purity, and the impact of cybersecurity and geopolitics on the supply chain.
- Role of Delta Electronics in generating green energy, mobility in the context of automobiles, and the use of electric automobiles for sustainable transportation.
- The geopolitical and cybersecurity impacts of semiconductor chips and strategies to reduce chip usage and extend product life through recycling and digital twin innovation.
MOCK GDPI
Office of Career Advancement and Networking | Mock Group Discussion and Personal Interview | MBA (Batch of January 2023-25)
Ten corporates from diverse fields were invited to conduct real-time interviews with students from various specializations to test their interview preparedness.
The students were assessed on various parameters, including the group discussion and domain knowledge. Marks were awarded to the students after scrutiny, and results were declared post-assessment in the interview process.
Individual feedback was given to the students based on their interview performance by the corporates. The feedback process included suggestions for improvement and interview tips, which students valued as part of their ongoing development.
