Ms. Soumi Dhar

Assistant Professor

Alliance College of Engineering and Design

Prof. Soumi Dhar is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Alliance College of Engineering and Design, Faculty of Science & Technology, Alliance University. She earned her B. Tech degree in Computer Science Engineering and later pursued her master's degree at the esteemed National Institute of Technology, Silchar, Assam.

Following her master's, she joined the same institution as a PhD Research Fellow. Her research interests encompass a wide range of areas, including Digital Geometry, Computational Geometry, Computer Graphics, Mathematical Imaging, and Image processing.

  • E-MEDICATION”: This project is a windows mobile phone. application as well as desktop application providing solutions to help small to large size hospitals to streamline patient care, hospital administration, ancillary services and clinical support activities. This web application is more effective, quick in providing medical help. This helps the patients to maintain a proper health record in their mobile phones or tablets. This application provides enough flexibility to go through the case history of his patient any time.
  • Generation of 3D surface from a given generatrix using a digital geometric approach”: This work presents a novel and efficient digital geometric technique to create a hole-free 3D surface by using some simple but efficient digital geometric approach. The main aim of the work is to create a 3D surface with a given generatrix and a fixed axis of revolution. The created 3D surface also ensures the connectivity and irreducibility of the surface, which also gives a smooth and real like surface of an object.
  • On Some Local Topological Properties of Naive Discrete Plane for Reconstruction”: Digital Plane acts as an essential building block for the discretized solids and surfaces, which are remarkably used in various interdisciplinary areas of technology and science. Digital Planes are defined by the approximation of the real objects in a standard theoretical framework. After discretizing a 2-manifold surface (triangular mesh), a set of voxels is obtained by applying voxelization models. As there is more than one topology related to the digital plane, hence the selection of the topology plays the leading role. We have introduced the novel concept of functional partitioning for the segmentation of the voxelized surface and considered some paramount topological properties which have an application in designing the reconstruction algorithm of a dense voxelized surface.
