Dr. Apoorva Adhikari

Dr. Apoorva Adhikari holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the Department of Psychology, Jamia Millia Islamia. Her doctoral thesis is titled, “Posttraumatic Growth, Mental Health, Social Support, and Coping Styles among Survivors of Domestic Violence”. She has worked as a teaching assistant which prepared her to be an effective researcher and instructor. In addition to her thesis research, other areas that interest her include women’s mental health and gender issues.
Prof. Apoorva has publications such as “Street Harassment and Coping among Indian College Women” and “Posttraumatic Growth in Survivors of Domestic Violence” in UGC-Care Journals. She has presented many papers in both national and international conferences. She also volunteered to provide free tele-counseling services for the students and staff during the outbreak of COVID-19. She is also pursuing Post-graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counseling from Jamia Millia Islamia. Her experience as a researcher provided her with a broad view that is useful in assisting students with dissertations, projects, and assignments. She has also been an active member of National Service Scheme (NSS) and acted as a coordinator in major events associated with NSS.
