Ms. Sangita Das

Assistant Professor

Alliance School of Liberal Arts and Humanities

Sangita currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies at Alliance University. With an extensive background in fine arts, she combines practical experience with academic rigor in her teaching. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Sculpture from the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata, and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Sculpture from Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan. In 2014, she was awarded a National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. She also qualified for the UGC-NET examination in December 2019.

Sangita has been teaching for over five years in various educational institutions across India, consistently guiding and motivating students in a multicultural environment. Her creative practice spans painting, sculpture, installation, and photography, with a focus on sustainable art, land art, public art, contemporary art, and urban architecture. She has developed a variety of art-media practices and has exhibited her work in numerous state and national-level art exhibitions.

Sangita's research interests are broad Transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary. It includes art and design theory, handcraft design research, sustainable practices, and both world and Indian art history, with a particular emphasis on Indian temple architecture. Her work is deeply rooted in research approaches, reflecting her commitment to continuous learning and exploration.

Sangita Das embodies the qualities of a passionate educator and a committed artist. Her diverse experiences and contributions to the fields of fine arts and education make her a valuable asset to any academic institution. Through her ongoing research and active participation in both academic and artistic communities, she continues to make a significant impact on art and education.
