Ms. Anusha Hegde

Assistant Professor

Anusha Hegde has submitted her PhD thesis on “Female Subjectivity in Select Dystopian Science Fiction” to the Department of English, Central University of Punjab in September 2024. She was a UGC-Senior Research Fellow during her PhD in English. Ms. Hegde cleared the UGC- NET and JRF in 2020. As a scholar in Central University of Punjab, she has been academic mentor for MA English students and has taught courses in academic writing, research proposal writing, research methodology. Further, she has individually mentored the MA students during their dissertation writing process. As a fellow, she has coached postgraduate students in the university for Paper I and Paper II of UGC-NET exam. Prior to her doctoral research, she was awarded MA in English by Central University of Karnataka in 2020, where she secured the university gold medal for scoring the highest marks. Ms. Hegde completed her BA in Journalism, Optional English and Psychology from NMKRV College for Women, Bengaluru in 2018.

Her research interests include feminism, subjectivity, posthumanism, ecocriticism, children's literature, young adult fiction, science fiction, mythology and philosophy. During her education, she has actively participated in and conducted literary programs, seminars, literary festivals, and conferences. She has been student reporter and editor for newsletters and creative magazines. Ms. Hegde has a penchant for writing short stories for children, book reviews and articles; some were published in children’s magazines and newspapers.
