Mr. Swagata Bhattacharyya

Swagata Bhattacharyya is a visual artist, animator and educator working with various mediums such as drawing, animation, and CGI to create simulated worlds that explore the impact of power structures on our world, specifically through architecture, urban design, technology, and landscapes. He holds a Master of Visual Arts degree from The Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Vadodara, and a bachelor's in fine arts from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.
He has exhibited in solo, and group shows, both nationally and internationally. Some of the notable venues include Forum Schlossplatz in Aarau, Switzerland, Aicon Contemporary in New York, Oyoun in Berlin, Roda Sten Konsthall (Sweden), Zita (Stockholm) and India Art Fair in New Delhi. He has also participated in several residencies, such as GÄSTEATELIER KRONE in Aarau, Switzerland, 'Digital Futures' at KHOJ International Artists' Association in New Delhi, and Residency organized by Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation.
He has received several awards and recognitions for his work, such as the Inlaks Fine Art Award (2020), the Nasreen Mohamedi Scholarship in painting, and the Faber-Castell Certificate of Excellence for outstanding achievement in Painting.
