Mr. Pankaj Roy

Mr. Pankaj Roy teaches Spanish Language, Literature and Cultural Studies. He is currently pursuing his Doctoral Studies from Centre of Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Latin American Studies (CSPILAS) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, specializing in Modern Hispanic Narrative and Aesthetics and Politics of Marginality. He holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Spanish Literature specializing in Mexican Literature and Nationalism, complemented by a Master of Arts in Spanish Philology from JNU and a Bachelor of Arts in English from The English and Foreign Languages University (Shillong Campus). He qualified UGC (NET-JRF) in July 2019. He was selected in DELHI (Diploma de Estudios Lingüisticos Hispánicos en la India), a teacher training course for Professors of Spanish Language and literature, organized by CIEUSAL, Universidad de Salamanca, in October 2024. He has also worked as a Teaching Assistant at JNU where he taught courses ranging from Spanish Language, to Latin American History, Politics and Literature. As a Scholar, he has acute interest in Modern Latin American Narrative and Visual Culture and their confluence with Modernist Aesthetics and Politics. His research interests broadly lie within the parameters of Comparative Literature and Visual Culture, delving into Indigenismo, Critical theory and Decolonial Theory.
