Dr. V. J. Byra Reddy

Dr. V.J.Byra Reddy is a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Mangalore University and a post-graduate in Economics from Bangalore University. His areas of teaching include Managerial Economics, Advanced Microeconomics, International Business, Research Methods, and Public policy. He has 29 years of total work experience; 25 years in teaching and 4 years of Industry experience at the entry and middle level management.

Dr. Reddy has been a visiting professor at National Institute for Social Development, Sri Lanka during July 2013. He has also been a visiting professor at Cag University, Adana, Turkey During December 2019 - January 2020, where he taught Research Methodology to doctoral Students. Among his other visiting assignments: he has taught advanced microeconomics to master’s students of economics at the National College, Basavangudi, Bangalore during 2011 - 2013 and has taught a course on economics of event management to students at University of Technology, Meghalaya in 2014. He has co-taught social entrepreneurship at Champagne School of Business, Troys, France during October 2010

Dr Reddy is one of the leaders of Quality in Business Education.  He has served on the board of one of the largest Business Education accrediting bodies based out of Kansas, Missouri, USA – the international accreditation council for business education [IACBE]. In addition, he has been an IACBE accreditation site visit member / Chair to more than a dozen institutions across the world.  On a related note, several institutions of higher learning in India and around the world have invited Dr Reddy as a resource person for sessions on Outcomes Based Education [OBE]

Dr Reddy has been an invited member for policy deliberations at Karnataka knowledge commission in 2011. He was also invited by Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas [MoPNG] and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology [RGIPT] for a series of deliberations to start an ‘Energy Institute’ at Bangalore during 2018-19.

He has published over 30 scholarly papers in National/International journals and Edited Books. Dr Reddy has travelled to more than 20 countries in Asia, America, Europe and Africa for a range of academic engagements. Dr Reddy is a recipient of Frank V Mastrianna Educational Leader of the year award for the year 2015 and a recipient of teaching excellence award at UPES during 2019.

Over the years, he has delivered MDPs and EDPs to executives of top Oil and Gas companies in India like ONGC, HPCL and IOC. Besides these he has been engaging with industry all though his career.
