Dr. Shamim S. Mondal

Dr. Shamim S. Mondal is an empirical economist, with a Ph.D. from University of Rochester, USA, where he specialized in macroeconomics and labour economics. His doctoral dissertation focused on differences in wage and other labour market outcomes between African American and white male workers in the USA, and how that has evolved over time.
Dr. Mondal has worked at Analysis Group, Inc., a litigation and economic consulting firm based in Boston where his clients included Fortune 500 companies in semiconductor, payment cards, pharmaceutical and mutual fund industries among others. His work involved conducting economic analyses on matters of antitrust litigation and healthcare economics. He has also worked with different educational institutes of repute where he has taught economics, research methods and statistics to post-graduate and doctoral students. Of the many years of an illustrious career, Dr. Mondal has donned different hats as an educator, researcher, academic administrator, consultant, and corporate trainer. Research interests of Dr. Mondal include applied topics in economics and business, including labour market, pharmaceutical market, and corporate governance in financial markets.
Dr. Mondal is an accomplished corporate trainer and has taught data science, economics, and statistics to senior executives of some the most recognized MNCs in India and to Central Govt. bureaucrats at IIMs and other leading institutes. During his academic career, Dr. Mondal has initiated policy changes in pedagogy and research, weekly research seminars, comprehensive examination at the end of coursework for doctoral scholars, academic inputs to doctoral scholars for improvement in coursework design, and collaborations with international partners.
