Dr. Rohit Babu obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. He received his M.Tech. Degree from Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi and B.Tech. degree from United College of Engineering & Research, Greater Noida. He has worked with different institutions in varied faculty positions.
Research interests of Dr. Babu include power system observability, optimal PMU placement, state estimation, evolutionary approaches, power system optimization, reactive power planning, economic load dispatch and FACTS devices.
