Dr. Soheila Farhani Nejad received her Ph.D. in English Literature from Universiti Sains Malaysia. She has published several articles on the British novelist, Iris Murdoch in peer reviewed journals. Her research examined the process of reading in two novels by Murdoch with particular attention to the importance of reader-text interaction based on Iser's notion of aesthetic response as well as Culler's view about literary competence.
The primary purpose of Dr. Soheila’s current research is connecting the theories of gender and genre in the works of contemporary female crime thriller novelists. Her favorite areas of teaching and research include literary theory and practice, American and British literary history, novel and genre fiction.
