Introduction:

The Alliance Centre for Intellectual Property Rights (ACIPR), in collaboration with Alliance School of Law, Alliance University, Bengaluru, organised the Intellectual Property (IP) Intra Law School Quiz Competition: Inventive Knowledge-2023 on October 13, 2023. This event aimed to promote awareness of intellectual property rights, celebrate innovation, and provide a platform for students to showcase their expertise in the field of intellectual property.

Inaugural Address by Dr. Shyam V. Kishore

The event commenced with an inspiring address by Dr. Shyam V. Kishore, Interim Dean of the Alliance School of Law, Alliance University. He emphasised the significance of intellectual property in contemporary society and the need to protect these rights. Dr. Kishore motivated the participants, encouraging them to demonstrate their knowledge and enthusiasm in the intellectual property field.

Competition Structure

The competition consisted of three rounds, involving a total of 10 teams, each comprising two individuals. The preliminary round served as a qualifying stage, leading to the semi-finals, where the top-performing teams competed for a spot in the finals. The semi-finals and finals featured challenging questions that assessed participants' comprehensive understanding of intellectual property concepts.

Winners and Recognition

Team 07 (Rishabh Arya and Chinmay Harsh Karn) emerged as the champions, displaying a deep comprehension of intellectual property. Team 02 (Majjari Pavani and Kadimi Lakshmi Harshitha) secured second place. Both teams were awarded trophies and certificates to acknowledge their commitment, expertise, and dedication to the competition.

Acknowledging Excellence

The awards were presented by Dr. V. Shyam Kishore, Interim Dean of the Law School and Advisor to ACIPR, and Dr. Mukul Saxena, Professor and Director, Centre for PG and Legal Studies and Centre for Leadership and Public Policy. These awards recognised the outstanding efforts and enthusiasm exhibited by the students throughout the event.

Success and Dedication

The IP Quiz Competition organized by ACIPR at Alliance University showcased the dedication of its faculty members, including Dr. Upankar Chutia, Center Coordinator, and Professors Abhishek Sarma, S. Chakravarthy Naik, and Shubhi Trivedi. The entire ACIPR organising team, as well as the enthusiastic participants, played a pivotal role in making the event a resounding success.
