The Office of Career Advancement & Networking of Alliance University Organised a Campus Preparedness Workshop for B.Tech. Students
The Office of Career Advancement & Networking of Alliance University organised the Campus to Corporate Preparedness Workshop on the 13th of May 2023. The workshop was organised for the pre-final year B.Tech. students of all branches. This was one of the many activities conducted to ensure that the students are fully ready and equipped to face the corporate during the upcoming placement cycle.
Senior industry professionals from across sectors came to the campus and shared valuable insights to the students on many topics. The speakers who were part of the various sessions included: Mr. Satish Margabandhu, Senior Manager – Talent Acquisition, Genpact; Mr. Harsha R, Lead Systems Engineer, Boeing; Mr. Nitin Unni, Associate Vice President, GlobalLogic India Private Limited (A Hitachi Group Company); Mr. Rakesh N Subramanian, Creative Director, Harman International (A Samsung Company); Mr. Deepak Parmar, Senior Training Manager, upGrad; Mr. Amarendra Singh, Senior Software QA Engineer, MaxLinear Technologies. The workshop also had inputs from Mr. Utsav Pathak who is a B.Tech. 2019-23 batch student and spoke about higher education opportunities and ways to pursue them.
The sessions in the workshop revolved around topics such as:
- resume writing
- Creating and using a LinkedIn profile
- Corporate etiquette
- Preparation for campus placements
- Certifications and projects as differentiators
- Programming as a career for all streams
- Acquiring technical skill
- Mock interviews
- Higher education roadmap
Each speaker covered the importance of aspects as mentioned above and how students should prioritize their growth journey after the engineering graduation. They also encouraged the students to be prepared from day one and take the first opportunity coming through campus placements.
There was great participation from all the students with inquisitive questions raised on how to prepare for campus placement cycle, especially considering the current market scenario.
All the senior industry members spoke extensively on the specific topics assigned to them and made an impact through their time and valuable knowledge to the aspiring technology and engineering professionals.
