The one-of-a-kind annual fest, a completely student-initiated event, is driven by one of the most important priorities of the G20 Presidency - Accelerating Progress on SDGs, is aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals as the theme of the event. The 17 SDGs laid out by the United Nations will be the core of the case studies that revolve on pertinent issues and detail the importance of encouraging young minds in progressive institutions such as Alliance University to take up responsibility towards building a sustainable future.

In line with the “University Connect” program of the UGC, we have created an event that will bring together the following aspects:

  3. Physical Activities that will have students from different regions come together as a state and compete in different sports tasks.

The 3-day event will be an amalgamation of knowledgeable insights, color, diversity, food, and culture by the powerful and young of our nation.

Join and encourage, our students from all over the world as they put up the best of representing the Indian culture and being the changemakers to build a sustainable planet.

Theme

Representation of states using Sustainable Development Goals as laid out by United Nations.

a. State Representation

Alliance ONE has a theme of representing an Indian state, students are expected to create displays, performances, or exhibits that highlight the unique cultural, historical, and social aspects of a particular state in India and align it to the Sustainable Development Goals for development of the state as would be represented by the teams.

Each state in India has its own distinct culture, traditions, cuisine, and languages, so there are many possibilities for how students can approach this theme. They may choose to focus on the music, dance, and festivals of the state. The idea is to showcase the diversity and richness of India's different regions and celebrate the country's cultural heritage.

b. Sustainable Development Goals

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 goals established by the United Nations to address social, economic, and environmental challenges facing the world. The SDGs were adopted in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

The 17 SDGs cover a wide range of issues, including poverty, hunger, health, education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, industry, innovation, and infrastructure, reduced inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, life below water, life on land, peace, justice, and strong institutions, and partnerships for the goals.

Achieving the SDGs requires the collective effort and cooperation of governments, businesses, civil society, and individuals worldwide. Governments must create policies and programs that promote sustainable development, while businesses must adopt sustainable practices in their operations and supply chains. Civil society organizations and individuals can also play a crucial role by advocating for sustainable development and taking actions to reduce their environmental impact.
