Sixth Foundation Day of Alliance University, 2nd August 2016 Back
Alliance University celebrated its Sixth Foundation Day on August 2, 2016 with an impressive, emotive and colorful ceremony. The celebrations for the occasion kick started at the sprawling lush green campus lawns. Prof. Sudhir G. Angur, Chancellor, Alliance University, addressed the gathering. In his encouraging and heartening address to the faculty and staff members of the University, the Chancellor mentioned his employees as his “extended family members” which spoke volumes of the essence of organizational culture at Alliance. He took a trip down memory lane and shared the ideas and beliefs which have been the determinants of the vision and culture at Alliance University. The Chancellor expressed his sincere gratitude to the employees of each department including the gardeners, drivers, security guards and the cleaning staff for the success of Alliance University. He reiterated the fact that together as a team the faculty and staff at Alliance have been able to create a niche in the field of education and he believed that the spirit and bonding would only strengthen in due course of time.
The other prominent speakers were the Vice-Chancellor Dr. Pavana Dibbur, Registrar Mr. Sivakumar Mathada and the Dean (Academics) Dr. P. Janaki Ramudu. The Vice-Chancellor elaborated on the various initiatives which the university could undertake so that it could reach greater heights. The Registrar spoke on the rapid growth of the University since its inception-a journey in which many difficulties were resolved and systems put in place. The Dean (Academics) gave a nostalgic review of what makes Alliance University better than its peers and dwelt on the importance of faculty autonomy and related matters. Other faculty volunteers also shared their fond memories of their stint at Alliance.
While these nostalgic speeches motivated team Alliance in more ways than one, there was more in store for the gathering. The evening was marked with a visual treat-the cultural extravaganza from the Department of Performing Arts which showcased some of the most popular dance forms in India ranging from Kerala to Punjab. This was on a classical note, however, there was much more in store for the crowd. The crowd almost went berserk with the contemporary Bollywood dances and song rendition by the faculty and staff. The foundation day celebrations truly reflected the spirit and culture of Alliance University which is “Unity in Diversity”.
